Spidertracks are putting their spiders to the ultimate test next month. From May 3–21, in
conjunction with Northern Lights Avionics, and Land and Sea Aviation, spidertracks will be
performing an “Air Tour” of Alaska. They will be traveling to tradeshows and various areas of
Southern and Central Alaska, tracking their journey with a Spider S4.
Spidertracks has announced a partnership with Deutsche Flugsicherung (DFS) in Germany. On April 6, 2012,
spidertracks signed with DFS, making them the official distributors of spidertracks throughout Europe.
Spidertracks has launched Spidertxt for Android, the latest software feature for their GPS satellite-tracking units. Spidertxt for Android allows spidertracks users to send and receive SMS messages, to and from any cell phone on the ground, while in flight.

Slovenian pilot and marine biologist, Matevz Lenarcic, is completing an around the world flight to expose disparities in global water supplies, and the source locations of black carbon emissions. From January through March, Lenarcic will fly westbound around the globe, being tracked in real-time, by Palmerston North based GPS company, spidertracks.

In June 2011, the DOI implemented a contract change for all Alaskan aircraft operators who carry DOI employees and cargo. They’re now required to have an operational Iridium satellite aircraft tracking system on board. Spidertracks was assigned to meet this new requirement.
